Signed by Jonah Woodruff. Signatures hole-cancelled. This company was inc. 1871, but Woodruff started to build sleeping-cars since 1857, when he demonstrated it to the NYC and the Pennsylvania RRs. Manufacture began in 1858 in Philadelphia, under the name T.T.Woodruff & Co. About 1862 the business was reorganised as a stock company as the Central Transportation Co., and Woodruff sold out his interest. He died in 1892 when he was struck by an express train.
