CONNECTICUT. NEW HAVEN. Shares of $50. black. No 6. Attractive and large vignette of horse-drawn street cars with trees and city in the background. Also allegorical vignettes of a little boy and eagle. James T. Leighton and his brother Dominicus founded the New Haven Car Co. sometime prior to 1868 at New Haven, Connecticut. The firm built all kinds of cars. In 1877, the Leightons founded the Leighton Parlor Sleeping Car Co. to run their own line of sleeping cars on the New Haven RR. Probably taken over around 1885 by the Wagner Palace Car Co. Extremely rare and not been on the market since many years.
