Formed 1894 by the CieMutuelle des Tramways to exploit concessions for lighting and tramways in the city. The concessions, for lines Slavia-Kalemegdan and Terazia-Cemetery, were owned by the Soc. Serbe-Françaised'Eclairage et de Voiesferrées, which later transferred four other lines to the company. Originally horse-drawn, all lines were electrified by 1899.
