BOSNIE-HERZEGOVINE. ZAVIDOVICI. 50 Actions de 250 Dinars. Serie A. green, black. No 2851-900. Central fold. Very large format. Zavidovici is a town in central Bosnia, which was developed by the Austrians during Austro-Hungarian rule, mostly because of the wood industry. This very large co-operative company was founded 1884, as Eissler and Ortlieb, to exploit the local forests. the company was renamed (perhaps at this date, 1925) after a local river. After the World War II the co-operative expanded, focusing on manufacture of furniture, which it began to export to US under the name "KrivajaBeechbrook". The Bosnian War almost destroyed the town and the company. Text in Serbian, English, French, German.
