STOCKHOLM. 1 Aktie Rd.100. Serie F. black. No 803. This is the original 1833 share issue, and should not be confused with the common 1888 shares that are reprinted issues of this 1833 issue. Superb copper-engraving of two Neptunes and a canal-boat by a lock. The canal was bought by the Swedish government about 20 years ago. The Göta is Sweden's most important waterway, linking the east and west coasts via inland lakes. The company was formed in 1910, and started to build the canal in the very same year. In 1822 the western part was completed, followed by the eastern part in 1832. The length of canal is 191km but the route includes lake-crossings of a further 387km. It has 58 locks. This original 1833 issue had never before been seen by us.
