CARLSTAD. Share of 200 R.B. black. No 34. A magnificent wide engraved vignette of a view of the town of Carlstad (today Karlstad), Lake Vänern (Sweden's largest), the river Klarälv, and the canal. Karlstad was already a link between two parts ofthe country, after the Trollhätte Canal, from LakeVänern to Göteborg, was built. This company was formed 1852 to built this canal and to enlarge the harbour. In 1856 the town of Carlstad took over the assets of the company. Slight edge-damage on the left border, but in general excellent condition, andthe superb vignette is immaculate. Extremely rare.
