ST-PETERSBOURG. 4% Bond of £1000. Cat. D/H 1083d. purple, black. #400. No 83. Central fold, some pin-holes and a small edge-split (repaired). This 1899 loan was to finance the building of a section of the line, from Moscow to Kreuzberg, on the Riga-Orel railway. It was also part of a long-distance routing for the export of Siberian cereals, via Rybinsk, through the Baltic port of Windau. This top value is very rare. Only 400 such bonds were issued.
