ANVERS. Action de Capital de F500, specimen. orange, black. #300000. Two edge-tears at the top border. Formed 1911, with Société Générale participation, as the Banque Brésilienne-Italo-Belge. The aim was to promote business relations with Brazil and other South American countries, and 2/3 of the capital was to be transferred to Brazil to finance the Banco do Brasil. It seems this did not work out, since the reference to Brazil was removed from the name in 1913. Had offices in various South American cities. 'Italo' in the name refers to Credito Italiano, of Milan, another shareholder bank. Fine vignette of a tropical port city, and arms of Italy and Belgium.
