This was important to the Flemish community in the mainly French-speaking city.Founded 1875 as the predecessor of the current KVS (KoninklijkeVlaamseSchouwburg). It played at first in the Alhambra Theater which it rented, however, from 1887, the city provided the theater company with its own building (VlaamseSchouwburg). The company was liquidated in 1890, and the building taken over by the city of Brussels. Yet, the KVS continues to exist until today.
