The company was formed in 1860 - an early date for a Russian company, although this share dates from the capital increase of 1913. Its founder was the German Baron Heinrich Ferdinand von Krauskopf (1819-1875). The company made various products from rubber and gutta-percha (a rigid natural latex produced from the sap of the trees palaquium). By 1900, it employed some 6000 people and realised a turnover of 6,5 million roubles. One of the world's biggest manufacturers of rubber shoes before WWI. Later on, car tires were its best-selling product. Still active today as a repairer of rubber transport belts. Rare '10 shares' type.
