Founded 1899 by August Paul Ernst von Borsig (1869-1933) who has also signed this share. He was a leading German industrialist, chairman of Borsigwerke in Berlin - the world's second largest producer of locomotives. He founded this Russian metallurgical plant close to Donetz, in the heart of the local mining industry. The company was fully vertically organized with blast furnaces, iron and steel foundry, rolling mills and engineering works. As such, the company provided the mining companies in the region with all technical equipment they needed (steam engines, steel constructions, pumps, mining tools,...). Nationalized by the Soviets in 1917.
