CHISWICK/LONDON. 7,5% Debenture Stock Certificate. red. No 239. Gwynne produced cars at its west London factory from 1922 to 1929. The company made pumps before (and after) cars, and also made car-and aero-engines. The first Gwynne car was of Spanish origin, and had 4 cylinders. The high power and light weight gave high performance, and this, with the low price, brought good sales. However, the car was noisy and uncomfortable. A larger body and more powerful engine were provided, and also a sports model, but the family motorist could find greater comfort and quietness elsewhere. Gwynne closed down production, leaving heavy losses for its promotors.
