Founded in Seneffe in August 1838 by Emile Dupont and a group industrialists and investors from around Charleroi and northern France. This particular share is issued to an investor living in Lille, France. Through this share,he becomes between 1/1870 and 1/2470 owner of the company. Upon foundation, the company held mining concessions in Familleureux, Bois-d'Haine, Hainse-St.-Paul and St.-Vaast, in total approx. 1270Ha. The first coal was discovered by the company in Dec.1838. During the first years, the company had a lot of problems with water infiltration. Succeeded by the Soc. du Levant de Fayt in 1859 and the Soc. des Charb. Réunis de Fayt et Bois-d'Haine in 1862. First time in our auctions.
