ANVERS. Dixième d'Action Privilégiée de F500. blue, yellow, red. No 2321. Some edge-damage at the top and bottom, hardly affecting the printed part of the share. Company formed 1900 to acquire concessions in the Ikelemba Valley. Most unusual design - a pen-and-ink drawing of a boat on the river, house, coconut-palms, etc. Designed by Frans van Leemputten, a painter of water-colours and landscapes, born Werchter 1850, died Antwerp 1914. After studying with Lauters at the Brussels Academy, he settled in Schaerbeek in 1879. He concentrated on landscapes with figures and animals, and was influenced by neo-impressionism. He became a teacher at the Institut Supérieur des Arts, Antwerp, a member of the Corps Académique of Antwerp in 1902, and a chevalier of the Order of Leopold.
